Growing Up Healthy engages children, youth and families living in select Latinx neighborhoods in Faribault and Northfield, with the goal of reducing the burden of food insecurity and increasing social connections during months when school is not in session.
The work of building social connections and providing healthy meals is preventive of health problems in adults and children. In addition, social connectedness promotes healthy social norms, fosters connection to resources and use of services, provides emotional support, and increases overall wellbeing.
Due to COVID-19, we are unable to safely hold large-group gatherings. Thus, the Growing Up Healthy team is working hard to coordinate alternative activities that will allow families to connect and engage with program partners. Community partners, please reach out if you would like to discuss ways to promote your program(s) or support community members this summer! Call 612-702-3992 or email email@example.com.
